Lara Abounayan is an associate marriage and family therapist (#107180), who works with individuals, couples, and families, focusing on anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting difficulties, relationship difficulties, and chronic illness, as well as immigration trauma and acculturation issues. She has worked extensively with parents and their children who were experiencing behavioral issues as well as families at the Armenian Relief Society’s Child, Youth, and Family Guidance Center.
Lara received her Master’s degree in Counseling, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, from California State University Northridge. Prior to that, she attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Lara is bilingual in English and Armenian and has experience conducting therapy in both languages. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Glendale Area Mental Health Professionals Association.
